Dr. Young was a Fellow at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in the Cyber System Assessments Group. He established and led the Air Force’s Cyber College. He is also an Associate Research Professor at Syracuse University in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Dr Young is a Distinguished Graduate of the USAF Weapons School and a graduate of the USAF School of Advanced Air and Space Studies. He is an Instructor Electronic Warfare Officer with 2,500 flying hours (primarily EA-6B and B-52), including 240 combat hours. He has served on studies for the Office of Net Assessment, Defense Science Board, Secretary of Defense and USAF Chief of Staff. He has also consulted for global commercial technology companies, such as Google, on the application of his security engineering methodology.
Dr. Young possesses a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Systems Engineering with an emphasis in Secure Systems Engineering. He has four Master’s Degrees and was an initial graduate of the Air Force’s Grand Strategy Program. He possesses a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science with an emphasis in Electrical and Aeronautical Engineering from the USAF Academy.
